Meet Matthew.

If you’ve ever met Matthew Owitz, you’ve been greeted with the sincerest smile you’ve ever seen. He grew up in the northern New Jersey suburbs, where he quickly became involved in school performances and theatre from a young age. While performing has always been a passion for Matthew, backstage became increasingly more interesting and piqued his interest. Matthew switched from performance to tech, trading in a microphone for a stage manager headset. At the collegiate level, he stage-managed several productions including The Chairs by Eugene Ionesco.

After graduating from Dean College in May 2021, Matthew went on to work for Cedar Fair Parks and Entertainment as a Production Stage Manager for Grand Carnivale at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg for Scrooge No More. Matthew also relaunched the Norwegian Sun as an on-board Entertainment Production Manager. Matthew completed a Stage Management Internship at Florida Studio Theatre and a Stage Management Apprentice at the Walnut Street Theatre. He is currently the Equity Production Stage Manager at Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA for their production of Forever Plaid.

Matthew wants to create a future by educating the younger generation on the arts. Throughout his time in school, he has made critical connections with directors, producers, and production staff which have impacted him greatly. Matthew wants to offer the same experience to his students one day.
